How to Connect a Custom SMTP Inbox

Connect any email provider that supports SMTP and IMAP.

Mail Maya can connect to any email provider that supports SMTP for sending and IMAP for receiving. This includes Outlook, Zoho, Yahoo, Fastmail, custom domain emails, and any other provider.

What you will need

  • SMTP host (e.g. smtp.zoho.com)
  • SMTP port (usually 587 for TLS or 465 for SSL)
  • IMAP host (e.g. imap.zoho.com)
  • IMAP port (usually 993)
  • Your full email address as the username
  • Your email password or an app-specific password

Your email provider's help documentation will list these settings. If you are not sure, search '[provider name] SMTP settings' — most providers publish them publicly.

Steps to connect

  1. Go to Email Accounts in the sidebar
  2. Click Connect inbox and select Custom SMTP
  3. Fill in your SMTP and IMAP details
  4. Click Test connection to verify
  5. Set a daily send limit
  6. Save the account

Tip: IMAP is required for reply detection. If you only fill in SMTP details, Mail Maya can send emails but will not be able to automatically detect when a lead replies.
