Connecting Your First Inbox
How to connect a Gmail or SMTP inbox to Mail Maya before sending.
Before you can send any emails, you need to connect at least one inbox. Mail Maya supports Gmail (Google Workspace) and any custom SMTP provider.
Steps to connect an inbox
- Go to Email Accounts in the left sidebar
- Click the Connect inbox button
- Choose your provider: Gmail or Custom SMTP
- Follow the provider-specific steps (detailed below)
- Once connected, set a Daily Send Limit for the account
Connecting Gmail
For Gmail, you will need to generate an App Password. Standard Gmail passwords will not work — Google requires an App Password for third-party email clients. See the guide 'How to Connect Gmail' in the Email Accounts section for step-by-step instructions.
Connecting a Custom SMTP Inbox
For any other provider (Outlook, Zoho, custom domain, etc.) you will need your SMTP host, port, username, and password. Your email provider's documentation or support team can supply these details.
Tip: Start with a daily limit of 30–50 emails per day on a new inbox. Gradually increase it over 2–3 weeks. This builds sender reputation and keeps you out of spam folders.
