IMAP and Reply Detection
How Mail Maya detects replies and automatically stops sequences.
Mail Maya monitors your connected inboxes for replies using IMAP. When a lead replies to any email in a sequence, Mail Maya automatically stops all future emails to that lead in that campaign.
How it works
Mail Maya polls your inbox via IMAP every 5 minutes. When it finds a reply from a lead currently in a sequence, it marks the lead as Replied and cancels any pending follow-up steps.
Why this matters
Without reply detection, a lead who responds positively would continue receiving automated follow-up emails — an embarrassing and unprofessional situation. Reply detection ensures the automation stops the moment a human conversation begins.
Requirements
- IMAP must be enabled on your email account (most providers have it enabled by default)
- IMAP host and port must be filled in when connecting your inbox
- IMAP credentials must be valid — Mail Maya tests them on connection
Tip: If you have enabled auto-reply triggers, Mail Maya checks those accounts every 30 seconds instead of every 5 minutes for near-instant responses.
