Importing Leads for the First Time

How to get your contacts into Mail Maya before launching a campaign.

Leads are the people you will be emailing. You can add them manually one at a time or import them in bulk from a CSV file.

Option 1: Import from CSV

1. Go to Leads in the left sidebar
2. Click Import leads
3. Upload your CSV file
4. Map the columns (email, first name, last name, company, etc.)
5. Review the preview and confirm the import

Your CSV must have at minimum an email column. All other columns are optional but recommended for personalisation.

Option 2: Add a lead manually

Click Add lead on the Leads page and fill in the form. This is best for one-off additions — for anything more than a handful, CSV import is much faster.

Tip: Always validate your email list before importing. Invalid email addresses can harm your sender reputation over time.

What happens to duplicates?

If a lead with the same email address already exists in your account, Mail Maya will update their details rather than create a duplicate entry.
