Sending Your First Campaign
A complete walkthrough of creating and launching your first campaign.
A campaign is a sequence of emails sent to a group of leads over time. Here is how to create and launch your first one.
The 5-step campaign builder
- Basics — give your campaign a name
- Sender — choose which inbox to send from
- Sequence — write your email steps and set delays between them
- Leads — choose which leads to include
- Review — set your schedule and launch
Step 3: Writing your sequence
Each step in the sequence has a subject line and a body. Use variables like {{first_name}} to personalise. The first step goes out immediately (within your sending window). Each follow-up step has a delay you configure — for example, 3 days after the previous step.
Step 5: Scheduling
Set the timezone, which hours of the day emails should go out, and whether to skip weekends. Emails will only be sent within the window you define.
Tip: A sequence of 3–4 emails performs better than a single email. Most replies come on the second or third follow-up.
What happens after launch?
Once launched, the campaign status changes to Running. Mail Maya's background processor runs every 30 seconds and sends emails to eligible leads within your sending window, respecting your daily send limit. When a lead replies, Mail Maya automatically stops the sequence for that lead.
